Thank You, Friends!

“There are no strangers here, only friends you haven't yet met.”

We still have soft, sunny September days but there’s no denying it: Summer 2022 is coming to a close. It’s time for thanks, and time to reflect on the best moments of this long and hot season, Palazzo Florio’s third.

The quote in the title is attributed to the Irish poet Yeats. It’s very meaningful for me. Every time a new reservation arrives, I feel the joy of anticipation: friends will be arriving soon! If we haven’t met yet, I imagine what you look like, what you’d like for breakfast and what you’d love to do in Vasto… No, I don’t google people, that would dim the sparkle of my imagination. Also, I want to keep my mind open to meet you without preconceptions.

So, dear friends, here we go, let’s get nostalgic with some highlights of Summer 2022:

Thanks to you who came for vacation, a wedding, cultural event, work, or to explore family heritage. Thanks for your company, smiles, laughs and scintillating conversations, thanks for your appetite for food, wine and all beautiful things that Vasto has to offer. Extra special thanks to you who returned the third year in a row!

It would be lovely to list all your names here but I realize it would be a list of hundreds. We’re saluting you all in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Croazia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America. Plus, of course, pretty much every region in our beautiful Italy!
